Shedding weight is a very challenging task and it can prove to be even more difficult for people if they have only a short time to lose weight. Mathematically, it is completely possible for individuals to lose a pound on a daily basis for 10 days, but it is dangerous to lose weight so quickly. Nevertheless, fast weight loss can be achieved if the following steps are practiced in daily routine:


  1. Firstly, people need to calculate the number of calories that they burn daily. People burn calories even if they are not exercising. Activities such as preparing dinner, cleaning the house, sitting and even sleeping burns several hundred calories. To lose weight, you will need to increase the calories you are burning and the ones you burn during daily activities will contribute to your daily total.
  2. Figure out how much to eat. You don’t want to starve your body completely just because you want to reduce the number of calories you eat. You will need more energy because you will increase your physical activity. You have to figure out how much to eat in order to stay healthy, energetic and satisfied. Low calorie foods like vegetables and egg whites should be consumed while high fat foods should be replaced with lean proteins like chicken and turkey. A total of 1200 to 1600 calories should be consumed per day, depending on your gender and height. While your health will not be affected if you reduce this number even further, but your body might start conserving calories if it feels starved.
  3. Determine how much exercise you will need. Once you have figured out how much calories you need to burn along with the extra 3500, you can plan your exercise regime accordingly. However, do not forget to consider the activities you do and the calories you shed through them daily.
  4. Now you need to do your exercise regime as planned in order to burn the calories effectively. Cardiovascular activity is recommended if you wish to achieve quick weight loss in a very short period of time. Later on, you can use strength training for toning and shaping your body, but currently you need to burn calories. You can take part in aerobics or go for jogging and walking. Even stair-climbing can prove to be immensely beneficial. Drink plenty of water during exercise for staying hydrated.
