Stress is something not to be taken lightly. It can have a serious toll on your physical and mental health. Due to a busy lifestyle and overwhelming work life, a lot of us are constantly stressed. Over time, it results in severe anxiety, depression, and obesity. It is highly important to keep your everyday life stress-free and here are some tips on how you can do that.
- Get moving
We know how comfortable it is to stay on the couch, eat popcorn and watch Netflix. But that is not at all healthy to your body. Work life can create stress and you need to get moving to bust it. Be it a calm yoga class, or a peppy aerobics session, make sure you’re burning off those calories. This is a win-win situation, guys. The exercising not only keeps you fit, but it also releases a bunch of endorphins, that are beneficial to both your physical and mental health.
- Eat right
Double cheese pizza is great. There is no denying it. But can’t have it four times a week! We can’t stress enough on the benefits of eating healthy. Cut down the sugar in your coffee. Have black if possible. Replace french fries with a bowl of fruit. Have a smoothie with your breakfast and drink loads of water. Add more veggies to your meals. When you have a balanced diet, your body will thank you for giving it one less thing to worry about.
- Try CBD
Before we dig deeper, Cannabidiol is not psychoactive or addictive. And it is quite safe. CBD is full of antioxidants and has a long list of benefits. It is very helpful with eczema, acne, anxiety, pain, inflammation, and depression. It is an incredible relaxant and it helps you to calm down. Due to its sleep-inducing properties, it is quite easy to destress yourself and calm those nerves.
- Have a good night’s sleep
It is super important to get an 8-hour sleep every day. Your body needs the rest badly. Put away all the electronic devices off at least an hour before you go to bed. Avoid any heavy-carb meals before your bedtime too. Put caffiene and alcohol away while you’re at it. Run a nice, warm bath and try to read before you go to bed and keep all the distracting, worrisome thoughts away for the next day.
- Replace you Caffeine
Coffee is great. No doubt. But it isn’t the greatest thing when it comes to stress. Coffee increases the levels of cortisol in your body, which is the exact thing that happens when you’re stressed. It creates the same kind of stressful environment for your body. So, replace the coffee with a soothing tea – like green tea, or peppermint tea. They relax your body and helps you feel better.
- Supplement it
There are certain supplements that can help you with reducing your stress. Omega 3 fatty acids are full of antioxidants and they can help you quite a lot in keeping your stress in check. Valerian root an excellent relaxant and sleep inducer. Lemon balm and green tea are known to have anti-anxiety effects so they work very well in destressing.
